Our Mantels come from many resources.  Each mantel is hand crafted in our shop using reclaimed materials.  No live trees were harvested to create these unique pieces of art.   We invite you to our showroom in Westfield to view over 40 different mantels to find the one you desire.  Or, we can custom make a mantel in just about any size and finish you want.

It’s Not just a Mantel, It’s a Story!

Mantels From Hand Hewn Barn Beams

Hand Hewn Mantels

Hand Hewn Barn Beams were widely used up to about 1900 to build barns and other structures. Trees were cut down and “squared up” to make framing timbers. This laborious task was all done by hand until the end o the 1800’s. (circa 1800)

All the Hand Hewn Barn Beams we salvage come from barns right here in Central and Northern Indiana. It is great to recycle this piece of Indiana history.

Mantels made from Colorado Lodge Pole Pine

Our “LIVE EDGE” Colorado Lodge Pole Pine Mantels come from high in the Rocky Mountains. Unfortunately, this area of Colorado is experiencing a “Beetle Kill” epidemic. Fortunately, we are able to recycle these trees by turning them into mantels. The face of the Lodge Pole Pine mantel still have small extensions where the branches once grew, along with amazing patterns of insect activity.

Mantels made from the deconstructed train trestle going across the Great Salt Lake.

In 1905 the Southern Pacific Railroad constructed the “Lucin Cutoff Train Trestle”. It was constructed to carry trains over the Great Salt Lake in Utah instead of around the lake. In the 1950’s a causway was built to replace the trestle. These timbers were salvaged in the 1990’s after being submerged for more than 80 years. The vivid rust and black markings show up nicely.

Mantels from the B & O Railroad Deconstruction, Washington, Indiana

The B & O “Roundhouse” was used to turn the train engines around for the return trip. In its heyday, it was quite an enterprise. This is where the Mantel comes from. Constructed in 1886 - Deconstructed 2017
